Edmodo Activity

      Last August 14, 2015, E1H and I had a discussion about the Dial Indicator. We didn't have the chance to take a quiz because we lacked the time. To compensate this unfortunate event, I decided to make an online quiz using EDMODO.

Creating a quiz using Edmodo

         It was easy to use. I just selected the type of quiz that I'd like to create, and then I just typed the questions and the answers below. There is also a preview button wherein you can try your quiz. This helps a lot because you'll know the adjustments that you have to make before publishing the quiz. A teacher can set time time that is allotted for the quiz. This feature is important as it prevents the students from doing other activities like using facebook, twitter, etc. because the time is limited.

         I attached a presentation of the lesson for them to review before taking the quiz. They can just download it by clicking the file name.

          What's so good about edmodo is that you can easily see how may students have turned in or answered the quiz. They can also leave a comment if they have a concern about the activity that they have. The students can only take the quiz once, to avoid cheating.

            One of the features of edmodo that I really liked is that you can view the answers of each student. The numbers in green are the ones that they answered correctly while the ones in red are the items that they were wrong.

              The teacher can also view the pie charts of each number. She can determine what the students didn't understand on the lesson. On the activity about the Dial Indicator, I can say that the students had a hard time answering question no. 7. It only means that this topic was not cleared before I ended the lesson.

                Edmodo also enables me to acknowledge those students who really study hard to get a high score on the quiz. I can see the names and the scores of the students who performed well in this activity.

                Most of us have an internet connection at home, and online quizzes are a trend nowadays. It helps the teachers ensure that the students learn even at home. Everything comes handy. All the teacher has to do is think of an activity that the students will surely enjoy. :)
